Karen M. Nielsen, MEd

I have owned and operated ChemBalance since 2000. I hold a Masters Degree in Education in Guidance and Counseling (MEd) as well as bachelor’s degree in Education from Eastern Washington University.

My past experience includes teaching junior high and high school and managing a career center where I counseled clients in career and college planning. I've also worked in library reference and research services. ChemBalance has given me the opportunity to blend my background in education, counseling, research and health.

My perspective on health comes from my 25 years experience with smell and taste testing as well as extensive reading on nutrition and health.

In the year 2000, I started ChemBalance, offering program support and counseling. Through my assessment process, I provide recommendations for making dietary and environmental/lifestyle changes based upon smell and taste preferences. My clients range from children who have developmental problems to adults and senior citizens who want to identify, prioritize, and track the supplements they need for optimal nutritional planning.

I spend many hours reading to keep up on the latest trends and research in health. From my perspective, health is a result of eating well, supplementing wisely, taking care of our bodies, healthy stress management, having support of people who care, doing what is personally meaningful and finding spiritual peace. Underlying this perspective is learning to read the body's signals that tell us when we need to eat, drink, supplement, relax, sleep, exercise, reach out to someone or find some fun.

Timothy Cunninghamm, Founder, Peramis Productions

Timothy is an author, inventor, counselor, storyteller, group facilitator, and developer of science curriculum, books and toys. With a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse business’, academic, student populations, he brings to clients the ability to transform awareness into action.

As the owner of “Peramis” an idea factory and production firm with an eclectic history of creating hands-on curricula, promotional videos, documentaries, and interpretive signage, Timothy’s commercial work primarily involves providing creative oversight and project consulting services to business, industry, government agencies, public institutions, schools and non-profits. At Peramis, learning is fun-intentional!

Timothy’s training in Family & Systems Constellations offers a dynamic and intuitive process to facilitate healthy interactions and creative solutions in group settings. Early in the eighties, Timothy was trained in the fundamentals of smell and taste testing which inspires and directs his research to this day.

Since 1990, he has also developed Science and Social Studies curriculums for middle schools covering environmental and health issues. “The Nature of Water Power”, a nationally recognized science curriculum, developed in 1995 for the Foundation for Water and Energy Education (fwee.org), is currently used in middle schools throughout the Pacific Northwest.
